Dambulla Golden Cave Temple is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. It include five caves under a vast overhanging rock, which contain statues and Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 m2). There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The Buddha statues vary in size and attitude, with the largest being fifteen meters long.
